Hello I am looking to read more and would like some suggestions for Sci-fi and Romance novels. I am looking for Sci-fi that centers around technology and feels grounded in reality, not so much space aliens and technical math jargon. The romance element can be subtle/ not the point, but I love a love story in any form. Cosmic horror and lots of hurt/ comfort are welcome but not required.
Previously I’ve really enjoyed books across many genres, but mostly fantasy and romance. My favorites include The Hunger Games series, the fantasy Quicksilver by Callie Hart, the Crave series by Tracy Wolff, and Pucking Feral by Lenore Rosewood and I’ve never read the books but The 100 TV show is also on my mind lol.
I love to read and am happy to visit my library and also have kindle unlimited. Any length of book is fine. Thank you! 😀

Wool, by Hugh Howey
Cordelia’s Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold is science fiction with a romance subplot, an entirely human cast, and easy to understand technology.
The Catnet books by Naomi Kritzer.
h{{Agent of Change by Sharon Lee}}
The Paradox series by Rachel Bach may fit your needs. I stumbled on it while I was desperate to find a good sci-fi trilogy with a female mc who got to kick butt. It does step a foot into the space alien territory but it’s not written in the “Let me show you how smart I am” way. There is a fantastic romance arch through the trilogy.
The Boundary series by Flint and Spoor is near future sci-fi that might suit your request. Timothy Zahn’s Cobra series is also worth a try.
The Stars Too Fondly by Emily Hamilton – it’s a sapphic romance about a group of friends who accidentally take off in earth’s only interstellar spaceship and have to figure out how to get back which probably includes finding out what happened to the original crew that disappeared in a very mysterious way.
