Like, I very much do get attached to characters, but I want to actually see them do things. I will dnf books as soon as I feel like the author wanted to write a romance and nothing else. I also think that plotty books can be very profound and meaningful and interesting, because the events within a plot can be constructed to send a message, but I very much feel like I'm in the minority of readers.

I’m not sure I fully understand your meaning, but no. Characters are important. They are our window into the plot. I find they very much go hand in hand.
Same. I usually switch to caring more about the characters when I realize the plot either isn’t good or generic. I’ll take plot over characters any day.

I think you are and should be, Character is king.
I am a Character person I even tattooed one guy’s punchline but yeah I also think the plot is important but Character they are the ones traveling with us forever.
