Off the top of my head, I know many people pronounced Hermione wrong. The would pronounce it like “Her-me-one”. I was completely guilty of that.
When I read Twilight back when I was a teen, Carlisle became “Car-liz-le”. It wasn’t until I made a friend during a vacation who turned out to be from Carlisle, Massachusetts that I realized I was really off.

Dude I was saying “Her-moy-nee” for like three books until the movies came out and I felt like an idiot. Still catch myself wanting to say it the wrong way sometimes.
Had a similar thing with Siobhan from some fantasy series – was pronouncing it “See-oh-ban” instead of “Shuh-von” for embarrassingly long. These Irish names always get me.
Nynaeve from the wheel of time.
Harkonnen. Read it with a long o first 10 times i read Dune. Should be pronounced with a really short almost nonexistant o.
The Riyria Revelations. I called it “Rear-ra” when it’s “rye-ear-ah”
The noun Colonel was a bit of a moment for me as I read a lot of Tom Clancy in my early teens.
Aoife in The Bone Clocks was A-oi-fie in my head for a long while.
Kvothe from Kingkiller. I read it as Kuh-voth and frankly, I prefer how I say it. 😅
Not a book, but growing up I was convinced Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 was pronounced ‘Seph-ee-roth’, and I still can’t get used to its actual pronunciation.
He’ll always be Sepheeroth to me.
Reading Gaul, I was pronouncing it as the word “reading” and the Roman province Gaul, rather than as “read (past tense) – ing” and “jail”.
I’m not sure if there’s a “correct” way to say Gytha Ogg, but I think I’m in the minority pronouncing it with a short i like fish and not a long y like sky.
