I’ve read all of Coben’s books available, with the last 3 on hold on Libby. I found some other posts that recommended:
Robert Crais, I’m trying to read Monkey’s Raincoat but hate it.
Karin Slaughter, attempted Beyond Reach and couldn’t even get halfway. It was terrible.
Linwood Barclay. I managed to finish No Time for Goodbye but I was not impressed.
I prefer modern day crimes, no smut, and a good story.
Are there other authors like Coben who grip you right from the start, aren’t a falling in love trope, and have good twists?
