More books like Lady Tan’s Circle of Women?

I recently finished Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See and really loved it.

It follows Tan Yunxian, a real female physician in 15th-century China, and is inspired by her actual medical casebook. I really enjoyed discovering a lesser-known historical setting and learning about medicine and women’s lives at that time.

Can anyone recommend similar historical fiction that’s inspired by real people, documents, or events? It doesn’t have to be set in China, just something historically grounded, ideally about a lesser-known time period or place.
