    Hello!

I need a suggestion for an audio book (or series) to keep me entertained while driving and at the gym.

While I tend towards more serious books when reading physical copies, for audio books I have had more luck with stories which (while containing serious elements) have an undeniable elements of humor and absurdism.

For example I really enjoyed Dungeon Crawler Carl, the Bobiverse, John Dies At the End and its sequels, and recently completed the third book of Expeditionary Force (though I need to take a break before I get sick of it.)

I also enjoyed the Dresden Files on audio, though that is a bit less humorous than the rest.

Any suggestions? Bonus points if it has an incredible narrator.

    1. Pratchett’s Discworld of course (skip the first 2)

*The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy* as well, and much of the rest of Douglas Adams

*Rivers of London* is a modern fantasy with plenty of wit and snark, I am assured that the reader is excellent.

The *Murderbot Diaries* by Martha Wells are the internal monologs of a rogue cyborg with an addiction to soap operas

TL Huchu’s *Edinburgh Nights* is less comedic but still witty.

      Christopher Moore in general

    2. Joe Abercrombie! Fantasy with HILARIOUS dialogue and inner monologing. I chuckle out loud. Its like a grim dark Terry Pratchett and fhe narrator is amazing. Similarly Discworld hss me chuckling but I read those as physical books. Not sure if its funny as audio. The Mort cycle had be laughing out loud.

    3. Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series

    4. I adored The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman. At times, it felt a little like Guardians of the Galaxy but in a fantasy setting. The characters are great, dialog is witty, and the magic and world are just incredibly cool.
