The Undermining of Twyla and Frank by Megan Bannen
It’s a fantasy romance, the main characters are middle aged park rangers. It’s the second book in a trilogy, all of the books are wonderful and worth your time, but I think you could read it alone and still understand it. There’s essentially an area of the world surrounded by mist that was created as a prison for the old gods. The old gods have moved on to become stars in space and humans now access the area. Frank and Twyla work inside the mist

You Are Here by David Nicholls – it’s a romance between two middle aged people. Sweet but not sappy or melodramatic.

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Exactly the subject. Don’t know if you’ve ever read anything by him but he’s a wonderful writer. Such a gorgeous love story.

There’s a lot more to this hectic story but The Wedding People by Alison Espach has an aspect of this
