I’m looking for fiction books about women who have had enough and leave their toxic families (and live happily ever after!!). Could be black sheep tired of being the scapegoat, golden children sick of being objectified, stepmothers done with being exploited, wives putting their foot down to demanding MILs, sons who choose their wives over cultural expectations, children escaping the cults they are raised in, etc. I particularly love sci-fi, fantasy, speculative fiction, mysteries, and horror, in that order.
An example of what I’m looking for is Diavola by Jennifer Thorn or The Sorcerer’s Daughter by T. Kingfisher.
