Should I drop this book?

I'm currently reading Adulthood Rites, which is the 2nd book in the Xenogenesis Trilogy by Octavia Butler. I'm about 1/3 of the way through. I enjoyed the first book, and this one isn't bad so far, but I'm getting kind of bored with how it's going, and I want to know if it's worth it to keep reading since I have a lot of other books I also want to read. Does it get more interesting, and is the third (Imago) worth reading?
