I’m looking for books like A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. Enjoyed reading this one and it had a good mix of humour and the story still had substance.
I’m basically looking for well-written books with clever, absurd or dark humour is totally fine too. I’m not really tied to any specific genre. Fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, literary, etc. are all welcome, but I don’t like romance books.
What books would you recommend?

John Kenney’s TRUTH IN ADVERTISING !!
Literary, yet NEVER stuffy. Dark (at times, certainly) although pretty much always with trimmings of human sweetness—although not sappy—awaiting being what those momentary snippets supply to being the winning recipient.
Wry, satirical, and still laden in gentle profundity.
If you’re interested in scoping its 3-minute y0utube trailer, in which Kenney makes a cameo, jingle me. Be sure to have some refreshment of hydration ready—often his approach could school the Mojave, it’s so dry.
Yahtzee Croshaw, funny author with great characters.
