I recently finished Shōgun by James Clavell and The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, and now I’m looking for more books like them.
What I really enjoyed was that they’re historical fiction set in the medieval/feudal world with politics, war, strategy, and realistic characters but without fantasy elements like dragons, elves, or magic.
I’m mainly looking for stories focused on medieval life, kingdoms, warfare, power struggles, or politics, but grounded in reality rather than fantasy.
Any recommendations?
