Hi guys, I’m curious if anyone who is (or used to be) socially anxious or neurodivergent have found books helpful for navigating office life. For context, I’ve been working for almost a decade across a couple of fields, and I’m realizing that doing good work isn’t always enough to succeed at work—especially if you’re quieter or more introverted. I’m starting to feel like office culture tends to punish introverts, and I don’t know all the unspoken rules that help others get ahead.
I’m looking for books that spell out these norms clearly and give actionable advice for the socially anxious or neurodivergent —essentially what to do in specific office situations to navigate politics, communicate effectively, advocate for yourself, and succeed without trying to be someone you’re not. TIA! 🫠
