I’m looking for romance books with a really specific trope.
Basically:
• The FMC dated a guy in the past.
• They break up.
• Years later he ends up dating (or engaged to / married to) her sister.
• The FMC and the guy still have unresolved feelings and fall for each other again.
I recently started Wrecked by Bree L. Mina, but I had to stop after the first couple chapters because I feel like I know how it ends and I’m not emotionally prepared for something that tragic right now! I’d rather not get attached to characters if the ending is devastating🥲
What I did really like, though, was the trope itself. I love the tension of:
• a past relationship/history between the couple
• forbidden feelings because he’s with the sister
• a lot of angst and emotional conflict
I especially like it when:
• the FMC and MMC dated before he got with the sister
• there’s a lot of unresolved tension and messy emotions
• the story feels romantic but complicated
I’m also okay with elements like an affair or sneaking around, since that makes the situation feel more realistic and dramatic.
But ideally not a tragic ending.
Does anyone know any books with this kind of trope?
