I'm looking for a book where a hideous woman is transformed into a beauty, either by magic or virtual reality or body swapping or whatever shenanigans.
I don't want it to be a disguise. I want to explore the experience of being treated poorly for your looks and then suddenly having the opposite experience.
(She needs to start genuinely ugly. I'm not asking for the bad haircut and glasses/in need of a makeover trope.)
