I love reading epic fantasy books that involve a lot of traveling and adventures. However, most that I've found are either older stories, or have some heavy adult themes. I'm looking for something more modern and Young Adult, but many YA novels I've seen today focus more on romantasy, politics, dragon schools, and fairytale retellings. I enjoy romance, but I'd like the focus to be on things like exploring mythical lands, ancient dungeons, and making romantic or found-family bonds. Bonus if there are also some horror elements.
