Where the characters are best friends, one has unrequited feelings (or so she thought) about the other, and it takes years before they get together. Preferably literary fiction but honestly any genre will do. I need an angsty book to ride with these days
I've read Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – it does not fit what I'm looking for since they do realize they have feelings for each other early on. But with One Day, Love Rosie, PWMOV – it really took them so long to get there – and there is so much unexpressed yearning. I want that but SAPPHIC
