I’ve been wondering lately whether rumination is one of the most isolating things our minds do. Not physical loneliness, but that strange mental isolation where you’re constantly stuck inside your own thoughts — replaying conversations, analyzing decisions, imagining problems that haven’t even happened.
From the outside life can look completely normal. You talk to people, go to work, keep your routines. But internally there’s this loop running in the background that slowly drains your energy and confidence.
Sometimes it almost feels like a thought pattern that quietly sabotages growth. It makes you hesitate before opportunities, overanalyze interactions, and doubt yourself in relationships.
Curious how others see this.
Do you think rumination is just normal overthinking, or can it actually become something that blocks your development and connection with people?
And if you managed to break that cycle — what helped you do it?
