I've read ALL the popular ones, mostly revolving around the Holocaust. I love fictional takes on real history because it makes the actual history so real, and even if the story is not narrated too well, it sheds a light on events that have actually happened. I recently read a WW2 book that was translated from French and was quite unpopular which has got me thinking that there must be more unpopular event retellings.
