I'm trying to surprise my husband with a selection of books but I don't really read the same genre as he does so I don't know what would be good choices. He likes Stuart Neville, Stuart McBride, Ambrose Parry but has also enjoyed Bob Mortimer and Richard Osman. Any suggestions?

The Maltese Falcon by Dashell Hammett. Probably any Hammett really.
Sherlock Holmes.
The Ministry of Fear by Graham Greene.
This is true crime but it’s incredible and would probably scratch the same itch – In Cold Blood by Truman Capote.
If he likes Stuart Neville, he will love Adrian McKinty’s Sean Duffy series. It’s really great!
