I'm not sure how to describe it, but I'm looking for a book that makes you feel like you're almost lingering in an alternate dimension. The closest to what I'm looking for is Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. I loved the quiet, mysterious and otherworldly feel of the House. I guess what I've been searching for ever since finishing that book is a liminal space you can sort of crawl into and make a home out of in your mind. Anything fantastical, weird and strangely comforting. Bonus point if the main characters is mostly traversing the place by themself. Open to any genre. TIA!

If you liked Piranesi, you might enjoy The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. It has a very similar feeling of wandering through a strange, hidden world.

Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer also has that quiet exploration of a mysterious place where the environment itself becomes the story.
