I always agonize over what to read next so I thought Id come here for some suggestions for my TBR list this year. I just had a baby and feel like I'm in sort of reading slump while also being a bit immobilized about what to read next.
I love layered, multigenerational novels. I also enjoy historical fiction, slice of life books, light fantasy, and a good non-fiction. I like books that allow me a glimpse into another way of life. I prioritize reading BIPOC authors, native, LGBTQ+ authors or both! I also enjoy reading a classic or two every year. I try to have a well rounded reading list every year with a handful of fiction vs. non-fiction, modern vs. classic, uplifting vs. heart wrenching (though I tend to read more heart wrenching stuff on the aggregate). Oh I also love a good Japanese novel and I've been on a Nigerian fiction kick.
Any all suggestions are welcome. Here's some books I've read in the last year to give you a sense of what I like:
