I was reading They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman but DNF it (for now, might get back to it after I finish my current swoony romance book), because I find it too slow – or maybe I'm just too old for YA…?
So I'm mainly searching for books that have the combine vibes of:
– Gossip Girl/Magnolia Parks for the high society and bling-bling girls settings BUT please with more depth and more for adults!
– Pretty Little Liars/One Of Us Is Lying for secrets/slight (?) mystery settings BUT please with more depth and more for adults!
– Would be even better if there's secret society, sinister rituals, conspiracy involved (please NO supernatural/fantasy stuff, please keep it contemporary).
– I prefer standalones.
– Could have romance plots/sub-plots but I don't mind if romance isn't the main focus.
– Could contain mystery or thriller settings! Or just the general vibes (?)
