Me and my girlfriend have been dating for years now. Yesterday, her dad read our messages and got really mad at her. This has happened before, he is aware that she has a boyfriend and he does not like it. The other times this happened, he slapped and scolded her a lot which obviously is not okay but yesterday, not only did he do all that, he even kicked her out of his house. She had to sleep outside the entire night. Today at 10am she told me everything and said that she's breaking up with me because of this. I still love her, I believe (and hope) that she too loves me and is only breaking up with me till she has to put up with her father. Although we are on good terms I am still very heartbroken that I wont be able to talk to the girl I love for who knows how long, what if she moves on and doesnt want to date me again? I cannot do anything without this entering my mind. If there is a book or any advice you have which can help me deal with this, please let me know. Thank you

Uh…where do you live? In a lot of places what her father has done is highly illegal. This is not merely “bad father” type stuff, slapping your kid and making them sleep outside is literally breaking the law in any country that has protections for children.
No book recommendation unfortunately, but I might recommend that this girl call CPS if they exist in your area.
