Just finished reading Frankenstein and I’m kind of in awe of how beautiful the writing was. Mary Shelley’s style felt so rich, emotional, and almost poetic.
I’m looking for book recommendations with similarly beautiful or atmospheric writing. Not just a good plot, but something where the prose itself really stands out and feels meaningful or immersive.
I’m open to classics or modern books, any genre really, as long as the writing has that same kind of depth and elegance.
Any suggestions?

Nathaniel Hawthorne. Gustave Flaubert. Proust.
The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff
The plague- Albert Camus
And my most recent discovery, M-0 by Florin Alexandru Tanasa.
I didn’t personally like the story, but you might like Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
