I think I'm looking for a book series that is an action/thriller but with a long haul romance piece to it as well.
I recently got sucked into watching the old Buffy TV series and I found myself totally hooked on the character development and romance between the main character and the redeemed bad boy later in the series. I felt like the TV series did them wrong and never gave them their due healthy relationship so I lept down the rabbit hole of fan fiction until I found some amazing writers to give me the closure that the show didn't!
But it has sparked a new desire to keep reading something that pulls me in the same way! Here are some of the bullet points for what I'm looking for/not looking for:
-Im not necessarily hooked on science fiction, I just happened to keep seeing this show pop up, so sci fi isnt a necessity.

I dont want something JUST about romance, I know I'll get bored if there's not enough depth outside of the romance arc.

I don't really want smut. Im an adult, I'd like an adult romance, but I dont want erotica. That's something I ran into with some of the fan fiction stories.

I liked the character development of the show, so I think a full book series would be best for that. I've read some shorter books with similar structures and I just feel rushed as a reader and like I'm missing back story etc.

I love the thorough writing of some of the fan fiction, that detailed characters emotions and gave more than just a play by play of action. I need depth!

I loved the witty banter and the redeemed bad boy over time part of the plot. I'm here for all of that.
Okay, I feel like thats super picky, but I'm hoping you all have suggestions! Help me scratch this itch!
