So after reading stuff like "The Stars Too Fondly" or "Of Monsters and Mainframes" I've recently fallen in love with the idea of say a ship captain falling in love with the ship AI, or something akin. I've recently started lightless, but I need some other reads too. I've also read "Ancillary Justice", and"the starship who sang", but do you lovely's have any other suggestions?

Klara and the Sun is written from the perspective of an AI who is programmed to develop a friendship with a human

The quantum thief involves a very flirtatious spaceship AI – not love but something along those lines

The best fun-AI series is Neal Asher’s Transformation trilogy and Polity world. I love how its old war AIs are so desperate for combat that they’ll take any job with even a hint of violence—and every order has to be worded extremely carefully to stop them from going full combat mode.

It doesn’t help that all the most extreme were put together hastily, as it was the middle of a war. And that other AI use them for plausible deniability which is also their justification for letting lose, which is that the greater AI would have known they would.

Basically, I like all the AI interactions.

    4. In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune is a queer (m/m, and one is ace) reimagining of Pinocchio but in this case Pinocchio is a human brought up by a droid, lives with said droid (his father) and two robots he fixed up (one is a a roomba named Rambo), and he finds, fixes and falls for another droid

There’s also a prequel shirt story set years before, featuring different characters, and the main character is a droid who falls in love with being alive like a human, and wants to be one of them. It’s called Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! and it’s been published online (don’t have the link available atm but you’ll find it easily enough)
