i feel my attention span has been cooked lately. I've started three different acclaimed novels this month and haven't made it past chapter four in any of them. I'm looking for something that just grabs me by throat from page one and doesn't let go. No slow-burn world-building or 50 page character introductions. I don't even care the genre, I just need to remember what it feels like to actually want to stay up late reading.

    1. I was in the exact same spot recently and the book that pulled me out of it was Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.

It’s one of the few books I’ve read that actually feels hard to put down. Short chapters, fast pacing, and it hooks you almost immediately without a long setup.

If you want something a little different but still super engaging, Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir also did it for me. It’s more problem-solving focused, but it keeps moving and stays interesting the whole time.
