looking for first book to get into reading

I’m an IT student and I want to start reading books regularly, but I’m completely new to reading novels.

I spend most of my time on screens (coding, tech, etc.), so I’m looking for something that can pull me into reading and not feel boring or too heavy.

I’d prefer:

• A really engaging story (something hard to put down)
• Easy to read (not very complex language)
• Fiction/novels (open to any genre like thriller, sci-fi, or even something inspiring)

I just want a book that can get me hooked and build a reading habit.

If possible, I’d love beginner-friendly recommendations that worked for you or got you into reading.
