I want something easy and fun kinda like Crawler Carl but not so many books. Im reading the 3rd book now and I find it a bit meh, I do like the characters and all but the setting is confusing and not great imo.
Do you have other recommendations? I will read the most upvoted ones that I haven't read.

The John Dies at the End series, written by Jason Pargin (under the pseudonym David Wong), is a humorous horror-fantasy series about two slackers, Dave and John, who fight supernatural threats using a mind-altering drug called Soy Sauce. The main books in order are John Dies at the End, This Book Is Full of Spiders, What the Hell Did I Just Read, and If This Book Exists, You’re in the Wrong Universe, with a fifth book, There Are No Giant Crabs in This Novel, scheduled for 2026.
I think it’s WAY better than DCC and actually has merit in the sense it’s thought provoking and well written.
