I’ve completed 8 books and DNF’d 12 books.
I’m having a REALLY hard time getting into books right now. The books I’ve finished are:
– Gone Girl (finished in 3 days)
– The Women by Kristin Hannah (almost DNF’d. I usually love her but hated this one)
– Tender is the Flesh
– We Used to Live here (read this 3x back to back…)
– Crazy Rich Asians 1-3 (needed a break from heavy)
Books I generally love generational, historical fiction, strong female leads, less romance, sweet sweet slow revenge, anything Asian American experience, bad ass historical women, unhinged elders.
Please and thank you!

Try She Who Became the Sun. It’s a phenomenal duet. It’s like an epic fantasy but reads more like historical fiction and light on fantasy elements.
Also, anything by Lisa See. My favorite has been The Island of the Sea Women.
If you are open to fantasy, do yourself the favor of reading The Sword of Kaigen.
Maybe try Blake Crouch (Pines trilogy, Dark Matter etc.) Also, try other dystopian novels: 1984, The Unworthy, A Handmaid’s Tale/The Testaments,, Parable of the Sower/Talents, The Memory Police, etc.
Have you read Pachinko yet? It checks a lot of those boxes!
I’ve quit books after five pages.
