Yesterday when I turned the last page of itI was like soooooo relieved. It's not like I read an adventure novel then at the end the protagonist finally found the treature, or a detective solved a case. It's more like a mixture of "Finally!!! I don't have to read it anymore" and "oh this is WHAT happened"

    Things I enjoy:

    1. The conversations are written in a very unique style. Sentences are short, emotions are held back, the speakers sometimes ask rhetoric questions repeatedly. I can totally feel the pressure, anxiety, attempt to constrain him/herself.

    2. There wasn't much plot to be fair, but somehow the book still provided a feeling of piecing puzzles together. I was intrigued by how Robert and France's relationship ended at the begining, yet none of the characters talked about it. Then I wondered what happened between Brett and Jake, Brett and Robert, Brett and Michael, and what would become of them eventually, that curiosity drove me though the book.

    3. There were some really fine passages about fishing and bull-fighting. Bill and Jake going fishing is probably my favorite part of the book. Walking on the mountain top, looking over the trees, standing in the stream feeling the coolness from the running water, seeing fishes swim by at the bottom of the stream, drinking three bottles of wine in the middle of day. Wow, I want this life!

    4. How the characters are STUCK. Yes they are going to the fiesta, yes they sorta have an itinery, but they don't really go anywhere. Like they don't have a goal, all they do is spending time and money. I don't know if I should envy them or not.

    5. Bill, Bill is perfect

    Things I don't like:

    1. Long describitions of the environment. Nothing progresses.

    Things I'm not sure about:

    1. Brett, why can't she just send Robert away? Why would you create a social purgatory? I simply can't picture the five of them sitting at a table having a meal happily. Thank god there is Bill.

    2. Robert, come on, have some self-esteem

    3. Michael, he need to fix his financial problems.
