Hi All,
Looking for some wholesome fiction books to read during pregnancy. I would prefer books centered around kids, families having wholesome moments and light hearted reads. Read House by the Cerulean Sea recently and loved it.
Thanks in advance.

Did you know that House by the Cerulean sea has a second part? I haven’t finished it, but if it’s anything like Klune’s other books, it’s highly worth it! I think it was called House beyond the sea.
Anne of Green Gables. She grows up in later books and Anne of Ingleside and Rainbow Valley are about her kids and their adventures.
The Changeling Sea by Patricia McKillip is one of my favorite comfort books—like a warm hug!
If you’d be into romance at all, I can think of a few historical ones I found delightful that involve one of the MCs having wards to care for and that being a key part of the relationship. Deception by Amanda Quick and The Governess Game by Tessa Dare are both pretty light and silly. I also really like Slightly Married by Mary Balogh; the first half is sort of lackluster but the back half is really sweet and chock full of adorable kid bonding moments.
Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Kat, Incorrigible by Stephanie Burgis
The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill
Middle grade books are really good for this vibe. Check out books that have won or were shortlisted for the Newberry.
Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife Memoir. I really liked this book. As an aside, years and years ago when I was pregnant I got seriously scolded HARD for reading Dean Koontz because it was “too scary for the baby”. lol!
I read James Herriot books all through my pregnancy. They were awesome.
How about The Secret Garden by Frances Hodges Burnett?
Remarkably Bright Creatures
The Guncle and sequel
