While reading Royal Assassin and Assassins Quest I made the foolish mistake of checking the back of the book and immediately got spoiled for something that happens TOWARDS THE END OF THE BOOK.
It’s genuinely horrible because you keep reading thinking maybe it’s there cause it happens in the first half of the book but no it’s literally towards the end or even then it’s still a spoiler for a great story
Rant over. Thank you for listening and don’t read the back of the book for this amazing series

I don’t read blurbs in general. Give far too much away.
Dude I made the exact same mistake with Assassins Quest and wanted to throw the book across the room. Like why would they put that reveal right there on the back cover when it’s literally the climax moment you’ve been building to for hundreds of pages
I’ve started covering the back covers with tape or just avoiding them entirely for series like this. Publishers seem to think every major plot point needs to be marketing material which is insane
Robin Hobb writes such intricate reveals too so having them spoiled beforehand just ruins the whole emotional impact
