I am deeply fascinated with what I've been calling "religious symbiosis". Just the way religions have evolved throughout history and changed according to the local cultures. For example, the way Christianity affected Japan vs the way it affected the British isles, and the ways in which Christianity then changed to accommodate those differences by assimilating pagan rituals. How the local converts of various places interpreted the same religious text in different ways. I guess my question is, can you recommend me any books on this specific topic?
