Two of my most favourite books are Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. I’ve wept, gone depressed, even wailed after reading these two and also, prolly scared a couple of people off too since i was reading them mostly during flights lol but would absolutely recommend.
The Bell Jar was largely written as a memoir, though in a fictionalised way by Sylvia. And although Paul also wrote his book as a biography before he passed away, it didn’t feel like a stereotypical work of non-fiction.
I would like to read something similar- Non Fiction yet not very ~Non Fictionyy~ iykwim.
If it makes me depressed for a week, +10 points. I want a book that leaves a mark on me and stays on my mind for a long time. Would really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!!

*Nothing to Envy* by Barbara Demick reads like gripping fiction.
