My wife and I are doing our own "book bingo" for 2026 as a way to read new things, and one of the prompts is "read a book by an author with the same first name as you". My first name is Jacob (I go by Jake). I am struggling to find something great through the little research I've done.
I typically read sci-fi and / or fantasy but recently I've been doing a lot more westerns and other literary fiction… however I am open to anything people like!

The Incorruptables, by John Horner Jacobs
One of the Brothers Grimm was named Jacob, you could read a collection of disturbing German fairy tales.
I freakin’ love this request. Could the name of the main character be Jake/Jacob, instead?
AJ Jacobs is an author who has some interesting memoir/research type books, that could be a good break if you’re going through a lot of literary fiction stuff. Not sure if it works because of the slight difference in the name.
I just finished Dead Money by Jakob Kerr a couple months ago. A really good thriller/murder mystery set in Silicon Valley. Came highly recommended to me and was a great read.
If you expanded the question to include MC named Jake, then definitely The Sun Also Rises; my favorite Hemingway novel and my most re-read novel. A masterpiece!
This is such a good bingo prompt! Would love to know what some of the other prompts you picked are
Banshee and the Sperm Whale by Jake Camp.
