I'm aware that this is a very specific request, but I do not apologise for it. I fucking love it when books feature sections where characters just build shit.
The example that comes to mind is the second half of The Stand where characters are intermittently rebuilding Boulder after Trips hits – I basically want this through a whole book (though not just utter naff, ideally a banger)
Main suggestions I've found online of this niche, impossible to Google request are Ken Follett's Pillars of Earth, and Terry Pratchett's Going Postal. I'm halfway through Discworld so intend to do the latter soon, Pillars of Earth less urgently
Also, can be non fiction despite the flair!
