Doesn't have to be that specific, but I really can't stand stories that sound like they have a really interesting premise, but the second paragraph of the description is "main character meets mysterious handsome other person" because those books always devolve into a really forced unoriginal romance. Romantasy is like, my least favorite genre in existence and it's become the most popular so finding a good read feels pretty challenging for me.
Age range should be young adult-adult, leaning away from teen books.
I especially love historical type fantasy; some examples of what I like are Tamora Pierce Tortall books, Legend of the Five Rings novels, Wesley Chu's War Arts saga. Some of these have a little sprinkling of romance in them, but in my opinion it is very minimal, organic, and doesn't interfere with the plot.
The main character doesn't *have* to be female, but I would greatly prefer it. Or a nonbinary character.
