I am just getting back into reading in the last year, and one of the first books I read was All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker and it absolutely gutted me. I loved everything about that book. Since then, I have read The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon, West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge, and just finished Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I have started The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and even We Begin at the End also by Chris Whitaker and I just couldn’t get into those books for some reason. I really enjoy historial fiction, and I think I am drawn to books with some sort of mystery/thriller. I am a student and only have time to read on breaks, so I am extra picky about the books I pick up because I have limited reading time. Any recommendations for books that you think would align with my preferences would be very much appreciated!!!

All the Colors of the Dark really stuck with me, too. Try The Women by Kristin Hannah. I never thought I’d get into that subject matter but it was recommended to me and caught me by surprise. I recently read Buckeye and really enjoyed it.
