The Blue Lenses by Daphne DuMaurier is excellent. She also wrote the short story “The Birds” which Hitchcock adapted, but the original story is much more creepy.
“Burning Your Boats” is the collected short stories of Angela Carter. She wrote a lot of interesting, dream like stories, and retold fairy tales.
