Would love recommendations of books set over one summer – starting as summer begins and ending when autumn blows in.
I've just finished Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver and LOVED it. Some of my other faves in the genre are The Perfect Golden Circle, Kakigori Summer, Dandelion Wine, Sweet Sorrow and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh.

Last Summer in the City – Gianfranco Calligarich
It’s not a happy book but great. Very Italian and feels a lot like La Dolce Vita or La Grande Bellezza.
A Month in the Country, by JL Carr
The Summer Book by Tove Jansson. It’s really sweet, about a summer spent with a young girl and her grandmother.
