it made me feel a certain type of way. As a young woman, her stories strike me as honest and raw. They capture, with remarkable subtlety, the interplay of light and shadow in the feelings we harbor about ourselves, the people around us and the circumstances we inhabit. I’m especially drawn to the faint trace of grit that runs through her work. Her writing lays bare the fragile, and at times almost pitiable, contours of human intimacy in a way that remains deeply endearing. I would love to get recommended titles that made me feel exactly the same way I felt about Bad Behavior. It's just so…profound.

didnt read gaitskill but based on what youre describing maybe check out alice munro – her short story collections hit that same raw intimacy vibe. also jennifer egan has some brutal honest stuff about relationships and self perception that might work. my wife read bad behavior a few years back and said it reminded her of some tobias wolff stories too
