I read in my baby book that our baby could hear us and there might be some developmental benefits to talking to them in the womb. I figured there's no harm in trying so I started reading outloud for a short while every evening. Whether there are any actual benefits for the baby or not I don't know but it's been a lovely bonding experience for my wife and I. We started with The Hobbit and are now nearly finished with The House in the Cerulean Sea and I'm looking for our next book.
Obviously I like fantasy but that's not a requirement. Preferably the book wouldn't be too long or part of a series. Ideally it would be the kind of book with themes and concepts I could share with my child when they reach school age or before they are a teenager.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
