As the name states. Any book where protagonist starts from mundane everyday life and then gets recruited, enlisted or hired by a secret organization or sort? Urban Fantasy is a plus.
I have read Stormlight Archive(from Laundry Files series) but it has protagonist already enlisted in the organization when novel starts, quite the opposite of what I want. Thanks in advance.
Please don't suggest YA. No hate on YA, but not looking for it right now.

Maybe “The Rook” by Daniel O’Malley? The setup isn’t exactly as cut-and-dry as the protagonist being recruited by a secret organization. From Goodreads:
