Trying (and not succeeding) to replace Bernie Gunther

Hello all,

I finished the Bernie Gunther series of 14 books by Philip Kerr last month. I loved them, wit, style, plot, characters, they had everything.

So, I've been trying to find what is next. I tried ChatGPT/Gemini to give me some recommendations. So far I have read:

Christine Falls by Benjamin Black (which I think is a nom de plume for John Banville, but I've not read any of his either)

If there are any thoughts out there, or things that I've not listed, I'd appreciate it.
