I’m trying to get into reading more, but I’m not interested in self-help or motivational stuff.
    I’m looking for books that:
    Teach something real and in-depth
Explore interesting concepts (science, psychology, history, philosophy, etc.)
Make you think differently or expand your understanding
    Preferably not too surface-level
Basically, books where you feel like you learned something solid, not just “felt inspired”.
Some examples of the kind of vibe I’m looking for (if it helps):
Books like A Short History of Nearly Everything
Anything that dives deep into how things work (brain, society, universe, etc.)
Open to any domain as long as it’s genuinely insightful.
    Would appreciate recommendations 🙏

    1. **(1) Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Pérez****

**(2) They Called Us Enemy by George Takei**

      * This is a graphic novel + memoir, but it taught me a lot about American concentration camps in WWII, which I knew existed but didn’t know any details (I’m not American, so perhaps not as interesting if you are and already learned about this)

I’ve read the first 30 or so pages of **Thinking, Fast and Slow** and the density and quality of material is astounding. Can wholeheartedly recommend even without having read the full thing.

Check out IanReeves, author on Royal Road. One of my favorite authors and I learn new stuff from almost every story I read.

Mary Roach has written books where she deep dives into a specific topic. I listened to “Stiff” recently where she researches what happens to a dead body. But she’s done topics about anatomy, sex, animals, soldiers, etc.
