    No need for a tragic childhood or anything, just something which explores a mother seeing her much loved child growing up and silently feeling major grief about it. I feel like this isn’t explored enough in media, and I have seen my mother experiencing it first hand

      My mom went through this exact thing when my younger brother moved out – maybe try “The Empty Nest” by Karen Stabiner, it digs into that bittersweet feeling without being overly dramatic about it
