My father in law had a bad knee surgery and will be in recovery for a long while. He's normally one of those guys who can't sit still and is always on the go, and doesn't really have any hobbies other than pickleball or golf. He's had a really rough time emotionally, and I have a feeling that even though he's never been a reader, the right story might be enough to get him hooked and keep him entertained!

Does anyone have any success stories of an older relative finding an appreciation for reading later in life? I'm thinking perhaps an immersive audiobook might be a good bridge, but open to whatever! My first thought was 11/22/63 by Stephen King, but I don't know if I'm just biased because that book caught me so quickly and I couldn't put it down.

I realize this is quite broad genre-wise since he doesn't really have any hobbies or special interests. Appreciate any ideas whatsoever!
