I heard great things about this book for a while and I finally read it. Yes, it was quite good, great prose, great emotion, great character development (not too many jumps to the list of character relations required). But I only knew that it was part of a series until I bought it. And so my question is why did the praise end at book one?

I just read the first one and really loved the characters but didn’t think the narrative arc was good enough for how much praise I’ve seen for the book. I’ve been wondering if it’s stronger as a series- would love to hear from people who’ve read more of them!
