I'm a very infrequent, slow (because I fall asleep within second of finding where I stopped) reader and usually get halfway with a book and give up because to much time has passed since I started. I have two daughters that fell very far from the tree and consume books day and night. I'm immensely proud. but I can't help them I just got a report back that my youngest who is 12 has got a reading age of 16. I'm looking for book suggestions that go beyond the bubblegum teen books, that will expand their vocabulary and sentence structures, but yet remain fun and not to complex as anybody know of any good authors or books, classic or modern, they would recommend?

What are their interests? Some of my favs from that age: Narnia, the Golden Compass, Holes, Redwall, Wayside School
I also really liked Edward Lang’s Fairy books
Tamsin by Peter Beagle might be a good one for her.
